Tumblr Tuesday: dropshado.ws

9-bits:

There is a certain niche of web developers that work on a Mac, code in Textmate, and have a rising interest in iPhone development and web standards — for this group, I can not recommend this new Tumblog by David DeSandro enough. I’ve already picked up several fantastic tips.

This is an amazing wealth of knowledge. Definitely worth following.

Alarms is a new reminder program that is currently in public beta. It is pretty clever. You can drag just about any item to the menu item, a timeline will pop down, drop the item on the time you wish to be reminded, and it will alert you and for certain items launch the app at the appointed time. Probably best to watch the video on the website to see what I mean but here is a quote:
Just drag the items you want to be remembered of to the Alarms menu and place them on the time line. Due items can be dragged just further right or even to another day.
Remember all of that noise I made about stuff in your menubar here in the early days? Yeah, forget about that. Make an exception here and give this a try. It’s in public beta so it is free for now.

Beautiful little app. I’m giving it a go on my work computer. So far it seems very nice. Also, did I mention how beautiful is? View high resolution

Most common words unique to 1-star and 5-star App Store reviews

marco:

I wrote a script to crawl U.S. App Store customer reviews for the top 100 apps from every category (minus duplicates) and compute the most common words in 1-star and 5-star reviews, excluding words that were also common in 3-star reviews.

Interesting work by Marco. (But what isn’t?)
